Support from DADZ4DADZ caring for children with disabilities and or SEN in the UK
Our second Annual HD Santa’s Grotto and Christmas Market for children with disabilities and their siblings was bigger and better than our first. We managed to keep the same process of meeting Santa so that there was no pressure or stress on any of the children while waiting to see Santa. The venue changed to Oak Wood School in Hillingdon, which was a fantastic venue giving plenty of space for all the stalls, food vendors, info tables and entertainment along with the Sensory areas and of course the Santa’s Grotto itself.
We had lot’s of fantastic feedback from all that attended and Santa gave 119 Children 3 gifts on the day.
As we booked out with in the first week of advertising we already have made plans to allow even more children with disabilities ad special educational needs to attend our third HD Santa’s Grotto and Christmas Market in 2019.
We have a lot of people to thank for helping us throughout the event including Anna Kennedy Online who again collaborated with us on the event, Hillingdon Carers Champion Cllr Becky Haggar, Cllr Wayne Bridges, both Hillingdon DADS & HD Carers Support Group volunteers, Hillingdon Flower Stall (opposite Uxbridge station) for donating real Christmas Trees and stands, big thanks to the continued support of Mencap Hillingdon South who built our Grotto, the big bounce theory and many more entertainment, stalls and info providers for carers and children. We would also like to thank all the local business who again gave generously for our prize draw raffles and people who took part in the raffles all prizes have been won and received.
We can’t wait till we get started again on the next Event which will be the second HD SEN Summer Funday date to be set and announced soon.
